A daring expedition to dig up the past

Three explorers in winter gear setting up equipment on snow-covered landscape with a flag atop a tall structure and a sled loaded with supplies in the background.

For more than a century, a supply cache from Shackleton's ill-fated Trans-Antarctic expedition has been buried in the ice.

A time-capsule, containing supplies and a letter that Shackleton’s party never received, put there by men who never made it home.

Today, three explorers and a documentary film crew will follow the footsteps of the men who died supporting history's greatest survival story.

And in the end, dig up a nearly forgotten tale of heroism, sacrifice and selflessness.
