MOUNTAINS OF LEGWORK

It’s been nearly six months of legwork to begin to put the pieces in place, and there’s still so much work to do.

We have our team and a plan for the route with the help of Antarctic Logistics and Expeditions (ALE), we’ve signed on some awesome equipment sponsors - THANK YOU ACLIMA, ASNES, BAFFIN, BARENTS, INTUITION, RAB, TEKO and we have collected so much incredible research and historical information.

Mark’s visit to the Cambridge Archives was incredible, and his most treasured acquisition has been finding a copy of the diary of Ernest Joyce, a key member of the Ross Sea Party and a longtime colleague of Ernest Shackleton. Joyce’s firsthand account of the years the Ross Sea Party spent laying their caches, and the loss of Aeneas Mackintosh, Victor Hayward and Reverend Arnold Spencer-Smith has been mesmerizing for Mark and keeps his fire going even when things get challenging for our team.

Our continued goal is to solidify the budget required to complete our expedition and gain sponsorship for the expedition and film.
