TRAINING BEGINS

The weather conditions are perfect, if not just a little too warm on our first day. Devon, Maggie and Mark gather up the equipment they brought and supplement with some of the gear available at the local shop. At this point, it’s all about testing and modifying everything to meet the unique needs of the team and the conditions they’ll be facing on their journey.

We’re also getting used to the audio and video equipment we’ll be using on the expedition and adjusting what we’re using (and how) to make sure we can capture every aspect of the team’s experience. And of course, our filmmaker Katie and DP Leif are following every step in the process.

Now it’s time to get onto the skis and away they go! The wind is making it hard to operate the drone, but Leif is an expert in these conditions and manages to guide it just behind the expedition team.

Devon, Mark and Maggie set off across Finsevatnet towards Hardangerjøkulen (the frozen lake between Finse and the Hardanger Glacier) with Katie and Leif tracking them
